Tara Clark Newberry is a police officer turned attorney. She’s served as a foreclosure mediator since 2009 and is licensed to practice law in Nevada and California. She’s raised $67,995 and has $694 remaining, as of October 15.

Her website says she’s an experienced trial attorney.  She’s also served as a mediator in bankruptcy court and for private parties.

Her website says she dedicates time to pro-bono cases via the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and Nevada Legal Services.

Her opponent, Jacob Reynolds, learned Spanish as a missionary in Argentina.  He uses it to teach classes on the U.S. Constitution to ESL students at elementary schools in Clark County.

Reynolds attended law school at Brigham Young University and clerked in federal court for two years. He says his practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, asset protection litigation, and representing public officials before the Nevada Ethics Commission.  He’s been in private practice for a dozen years.

He leads the campaign fundraising in the race with $214,789 in contributions and has $24,454 remaining, as of October 15.
