Judge David M. Jones was appointed to the District Court bench in 2016. He has a 15.38 percent error rate on 85 appeals, according to Our Nevada Judges.
His opponent, David Lopez-Negrete, says on his website that he “has fought to uphold the constitutional rights of the working class and least fortunate among us.”
Lopez-Negrete has been a public defender for a decade and the Chief Deputy of the sexual abuse unit, according to his website.
Lopez-Negrete was born in Mexico and grew up in Portland, Oregon. He attended James E. Rogers School of Law in Tucson.
He’s raised $22,471 and has just under $5,151 on hand as of October 15. Jones has raised $140,127 and has about $42,004 on hand.
