A group of Henderson residents who filed a referendum Monday to let voters decide whether taxpayers should fund a hockey arena are hoping a judge will derail a vote scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Clark County District Judge Rob Bare is being asked to restrain the City Council from voting on the proposal, which was detailed by city officials a week ago.

The application for a temporary restraining order notes a lack of transparency and opportunities for public comment because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
