Las Vegas Councilman Steve Seroka offered no reason when he tendered his resignation Monday. But a source close to Seroka confirms the departure appears to be related to a sexual misconduct complaint from an employee submitted to the city’s Human Resources department on February 25.

The Current is not identifying the employee alleging sexual misconduct.

The source says the complaint is being investigated.  City Attorney Brad Jerbic and other officials have refused to comment.

“I’m proud of my record of service to the constituents over these past two years,” Seroka wrote in his resignation letter.

Seroka, who represented Ward 2,  was the subject of a recall effort organized by Republican Victoria Seaman, who hoped to represent the ward. He’s been mired in the tug-of-war between homeowners and Yohan Lowie, the owner of the former Badlands Golf Course, who is attempting to develop homes on the closed course.
